SPUTNIK SCRUB

Processes: Silicone molding, liquid plastic casting, 3D printing, oven-bake clay
This compact bottle brush and scrub set is inspired by the natural form of the Sputnik urchin. Each set is thoughtfully designed for easy cleaning and storage.

PART 1: FORM
Design Process 

My process started from gathering inspiration from three sources - a natural inspiration, a cultural inspiration, and an architectural inspiration. Then, thumbnails of the soap dispenser & bottle brush set were made from each of the three inspirations. Finally, I chose one set from each page of thumbnails to focus on, and created sketch models for each.

PART 2: MULTIPLES
Casting and Molding for Manufacturability



Created a mockup product detail page to show how my product could be aligned and sold professionally within a brand. I chose the brand Terrain, due to its inspirations from natural forms, and how the final ceramic product fits in seamlessly within their Decor + Tabletop section as kitchenware. Renderings done in KeyShot.
