WOVEN SHELTER, 2024
A calming and meditative space inspired by the shape of a lotus flower - calming and grounding with the large and neat petals. The calming delicacy of the flower is draped with paper inspired by Chinese mountain pattern armor. The element of it being “armor” suggests the link between delicacy and strength, and calmness being a strength. The pattern does not fully cover all sides, and the openness allows for the person inside to be more connected to the outside world and expand their senses beyond just the enclosed space, which is an important element of meditation. This is also achieved through gaps in the armor pattern.
